This is a great bike rack, especially if you have your heavy e-bikes. It has a huge weight capacity, and I think it also looks pretty good. The way our bike is mounted to this bike rack is by two wheel straps and a free mount over here. This is a free mounted bike rack, so you can see how they have these hooks with this slight light padding here just to protect your bike. These mounts are lockable. more

Yakima OnRamp E-Bike Platform Rack with Ramp Review - 2020 Mazda CX-5- Video
Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2020 Mazda CX-5, we're gonna be checking out the Yakima OnRamp Platform Style Bike Rack. First impressions of the rack on the back of the Mazda, I think it's a decent fit, you know, it's relatively compact and which is good for a smaller SUV. You don't have a gigantic bike rack back here. And really, this is gonna be set up for e-bikes, so really heavy bikes and that's because it does have a ramp, a little tray that you can put on here and help get the bike on, or take it off. But that doesn't mean that you can't use it with regular-style bikes as well, so even if you just have a hard time or have a real heavy bike like this one here, it makes life a little bit easier which we'll get to in just a second. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Thule T2 Pro XTR four bike platform rack. We're going to take a look at how this multi bike bike rack fits our 2022 Mazda CX9. So if you're a fan of the Thule T2 Pro XTR which is their premium bike rack but you want the version that can carry around a lot of bikes, this is gonna be the one. You can take off the add-on and convert it back to a two bike platform rack or you can keep it in the four bikes configuration. Well, when you do have this many bikes though you also have more space as well as more weight that you are going to have to consider. Now the Full Tilt is going to be a hanging style bike rack able to accommodate up to five bikes and each has a individual weight capacity of 40 pounds. Now for those reasons the weight capacity unfortunately aren't heavier. E-bikes are not gonna be an option and because we are hanging from our frame, unfortunately our carbon frame bikes are not going to be an option. We can accommodate some alternative frame bikes but you're probably going to need a bike adapter bar, unfortunately. more

We are going to be making frame contact as our main point here in the center, so unfortunately our carbon frame bikes are not going to be an option. And because of that weight limit, our e-bikes are not going to be an option, but we can actually accommodate a lot of alternative frame bikes. Because we are making that frame contact and due the weight rating, unfortunately, e-bikes and those carbon frame bikes are not going to be an option here. We can accommodate some alternative frame bikes, but you wanna make sure that you do get an adapter bar for that. Now, it does offer a tilt away feature, but you don't wanna tilt away with those bikes loaded, because that's just additional weight to worry about. more

Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima RidgeBack on our 2022 Mazda CX9. Now our bike rack is going to be a hanging style bike rack able to accommodate up to four bikes individual weight capacity for each of those being 40 pounds. Because of that weight capacity, unfortunately, we're not going to be carrying around our e-bikes and because our main points of contact is on our frame we're not gonna be able to do our carbon frame bikes either. But if you do have an alternative frame bike or a kids' bike and get a adapter bar you may be able to fit these onto here. Our bike rack does come with a tilt away feature but we don't wanna do that mostly because of the aggressive tilt might endanger the bikes towards the ground and you don't want to have all those bikes loaded up and have to lift all that weight. more

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on our 2021 Mazda CX-5. It is a 2-bike platform style bike rack, capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds each. It's going to hold onto our bikes using this dual wheel mount design, one hoop on either side on either tire, so there's no frame contact in the event that you wanna mix and match this with carbon frame bikes or you have an alternative frame bike with a really aggressive style, maybe just have a nice paint job that you don't want being damaged, this is a great way to get them where they need to go. Let's check out how it works. One really nice feature that I like about this rack is that to tilt it down, which we can do with the bike loaded up, we just have to reach this handle right here at the front, super close and really easy to do, so even if I had another bike loaded up in the front, I could, and there's a little bit of resistance on the way down, so it's not just gonna drop on me all of a sudden. more

So right off the bat, kind of my first impressions of the rack is I think it looks really good actually on the back of the Mazda. Kind of has that, you know, that streamlined sporty look which really matches the lines well and it's going to hold our bike up nice and high off the ground too, out of harm's way. Not so high that it's going to block our view when we're going down the road, but, you know, still be able to kind of keep an eye on them, you know, whenever you're driving. If you're looking for a straightforward, nothing too crazy, very simple bike rack just to get your friends or family's bikes to the trails, to the park, or even on a trip, this would probably be the better option for you. As you can see with this hanging style bike rack, it will hold up to 4 bikes. We use hook and loop straps here on each cradle that are rubber lined as well. And to load and unload, you would just simply unstrap the front and the side one as well, and then remove your bike from there. more

If you're looking for a bike rack to install that's going to be easy and lightweight, maybe something that you can do by yourself, this would probably be one of the better options. Taking a look at the simplicity of this design as well, there's only three contact points to hold your bike secure. With that being said, having this 360 movable frame mount point you'll have different options for different style of bikes. With only having those three contact points that are holding the bikes secure, let's go ahead and take it off now and I'll show you that.I like to take off the front and rear wheels first. more

Evangeline: Hi, it's Evangeline from etrailer.com and today, we are looking at our Hollywood Racks Destination Four-Bike Platform style rack here on our 2020 Mazda CX5. So this is a great bike rack if you're looking for something that is lightweight and easy to install. It's a good entry level four bike platform rack, so you can still carry all your bikes without having to pay too much. The way our bike is mounted to this bike rack is by one, two wheel straps and this frame mount over here. If you look at the frame mount, this works really well with non-traditional bike frames or traditional ones because of it's 360 rotation. To dismount the bike, you just start with these wheels strips.So I recommend holding onto the bike a little bit as you press that lever and pull up on the strap. more

It's going to allow us to carry some bikes with us and with our apex, we're going to be able to carry up to four bikes to and from the trail. It's going to prevent us from having to worry about getting a roof rack, reach all the way to the top mount our bikes up there, or even just cram our bikes in the back. Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Mazda CX-9 NV22B- Video
Today on our 2016 Mazda CX-9, we're going to be a test fit on the Kuat NV 2.0 platform style two-bike rack, that's part number NV22G. I've already got it loaded up on the Mazda, just to give a good idea of what it looks like. One of its main features is how it holds our bikes. It actually hold our bikes with zero frame contact. We have this wheel hook going over our front wheel, putting down pressure into our front wheel cradle. Here in the rear, we've got a strap going over our wheel keeping that in place. more
